This is Vegetable tanned Hermann Oak harness leather handcut to 1 1/2 inch wide . It has a black roller buckle that is attached with chicago screws so the buckle can be changed if desired. The edges were beveled and burnished and has a low shine to it. The hide was cut from the back and has some minor marks from when the cow was wearing it because it has not had the top layer sanded completely off so it has a uniform appearance. It has been specially treated as harness leather at Hermann Oak. Made in USA with US hides. This is a thick belt made from 10-12 oz leather, it can be used casually but it is made for a holster or tools. It is one solid piece of leather, it has not been glued or sewed. It is as thick as 4 stacked quarters.

*To order, the best way to order a belt is to measure it as shown in the picture but if you don’t have an opportunity to do that I can work with a pants size. These measurements will be different your belt measurement is usually 2 or 3 inches larger than a waist size so just let me know what you are sending. I will make any size you need here in my shop in Maryland. I will put 5 holes in it unless you request 7 holes.

What is PVD Black:

PVD = "Physical Vapor Deposition"
PVD is a highly accurate plating process carried out in high vacuum environments at temperatures between 150 and 500 *C. It produces an extremely (emphasize EXTREMELY) durable finish to prevent scratching. Typically, black hardware that is found in the marketplace is not PVD, and is generally considered a black spray paint causing it to chip and scratch off within days. PVD plating is the process used to plate high end watch hardware, golf clubs, etc., and the only successful way to make a black that will not wear off.
